Through twenty travel adventures of varying lengths, you will learn what other options there are instead of air travel and how your next destination can be reached using ecological alternatives. Maps for orientation, tips on the best places for camping, must-haves for plastic-free travel, a self-test on your ecological footprint as well as useful apps and websites for travelling over land and water inspire and help you plan your own trip.
.Environmentally friendly travel from microadventure to round-the-world trip
. Two days on foot through the Eifel? Three weeks hitchhiking and busing through Southern Europe? A quarter of a year on a bicycle from Stuttgart always heading east? Or hitchhiking on a sailboat across the Atlantic? From short microadventures to extended long-distance journeys and even entire circumnavigations of the globe - being environmentally aware on the road does not have to be limited to a small scale, but is possible worldwide. A wide variety of means of transport are also used. For example, have you ever thought about a bicycle bus or a trip by canoe? With this practical guide, you can tackle your next trip without remorse or a guilty conscience.

About the author
Pia Wieland studied communication design at the Stuttgart Art Academy and works as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator. She loves travelling the world and being in foreign countries, absorbing and reflecting on the diversity of cultures. Everything is best done hitchhiking and with a guitar in her luggage, as randomly and spontaneously as possible, always looking around every corner for new inspiration and a new, creative project. In her everyday life and on her travels, it is a matter of course for her to live and act as sustainably as possible.
Tobias Ertel worked as a freelance photographer for several years and is now studying interaction design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Schwäbisch Gmünd. His love of faraway countries and nature is reflected in his photographic work. Despite several overland trips to distant countries in recent years, regional destinations are close to his heart, true to the motto "Why go far, when the good is so close". When Tobias is not travelling or studying, he likes to fill his days with reading scientific articles on climate policy and social issues.
