Solid brass tape dispenser | Ihada small

Futagami tape dispenser "Ihada" made of solid brass "small". This tape dispenser is cast in Japan similar to bells and finished by hand. The dispenser can be used with standard adhesive tape rolls. The raw casting with its rustic surface is heavy and stable enough that tearing it off with one hand works perfectly. The connecting bridge between the two pillars also serves as a handle for the hand when moving and carrying the dispenser around. The sharply polished edge is used for tearing off without any separate parts.

The finish is ihada-finished, a rough cast surface that improves with age. The brass gradually changes colour over the years due to oxidation and becomes richer and more subtle.

Futagami was founded in 1897 and historically designed Buddhist statues and altarpieces cast from solid brass. In 2009, a collaboration with designer Oji Masanori added a contemporary twist to the brand - Masanori designed everyday lifestyle items using the same skilled brass casting techniques, combining tradition with modernity. Futagami's range of functional, minimalist everyday items draws inspiration from the cosmos with their unique designs and patterns.
