Over time, the brass undergoes a colour change due to natural oxidation processes; within five years, a charming light brown patina develops, followed by rust tones. The original shine can be maintained by using a polishing cloth.

STORY

Futagami was founded in 1897 and historically designed Buddhist statues and altarpieces cast from solid brass. In 2009, a collaboration with designer Oji Masanori added a contemporary twist to the brand - Masanori designed everyday lifestyle items using the same skilled brass casting techniques, combining tradition with modernity. Futagami's range of functional, minimalist everyday items draws inspiration from the cosmos with their unique designs and patterns, exuding an industrial touch.
