STORY

Founded in 1902 by Sojiro Sasaki, Toyo-Sasaki is one of Japan's leading glass manufacturers and has played an important role in the long history of Japanese glassmaking. The Tokyo-based company initially produced oil lamps, but switched to glass household goods when electricity and gas replaced oil as the primary source of light. In 2002, the company merged with Toyo Glass to form Toyo-Sasaki Glass, which still produces the drinking glass today.
