These high quality plant shears from Tajika combine an elegant, design and superb craftsmanship with practical functionality and ease of use. These shears were originally designed for landscapers in traditional gardens in Kyoto for thinning pine needles and thin branches. They have also proven to be a popular tool for general use.

The mechanism of the scissors makes them easy to open and close, and the sharp blades cut very well and retain their sharpness for a long time. A phosphor coating prevents the steel from rusting.

Each pair of scissors is unique, which means that there may be slight variations from the variant shown here.

Tajika scissors come with a handmade goatskin cover for the blade and a fine packaging.

The Tajika Haruo Ironworks company, based in Ono City northeast of Kobe, has been producing high quality handmade scissors for over four generations since its establishment in the Showa period. Each pair of scissors is made entirely by hand in an intricate process. The thick, hand-ground blades cut efficiently and the scissors are designed to fit snugly in the hand and provide a firm grip when working.
